Ukraine might just be not the first country that pops up in your mind when you think of animation or cartoons. You probably think the States, Japan or maybe even Russia. Russia is great with all their trippy cartoons, right? Well, you're both right and wrong on that one. There's a huge overlap between the Russian and the Ukrainian animation styles. Since, y'know, USSR.
Ukraine may not be famous for making cartoons with high production values or cutting-edge animation, they are more focused on the details. They care about the plot, they just kinda-sorta ignore the technical side. It doesn't mean, however, that those cartoons do not look polished. They do: they all are crisp and clean. But Ukrainian cartoons usually have this IT-factor, something intangible. Something that makes all those animated adventures feel more exciting, more real and comfier, for the lack of a better word. If you are not familiar with Ukrainian animation, we strongly suggest you get to it ASAP. It's quite an experience, even if you won't like it. It's still going to be enjoyable.
