A serious investigation takes place - Mr. Burns was shot by someone unknown. The town police interrogates many people but there are no clues until Mr. Burns himself doesn’t wake up for a few seconds and is able to speak only one name - Homer Simpson. After this accident the head of the Simpson family is arrested and gets in jail only to escape rather soon. His daughter holds her own investigation of the accident and reveals some facts which might clear her father’s name. It all ends up when Burns wakes up one more time and this time speaks more clearly. In another episode Springfield becomes the scene for the production of one popular TV show. Bart and Milhouse take part in the audition to get the role.
